I have been seeing a lot of my extended host family this week. For some reason, the Jahnen family has a huge number of birthdays in August, so I have met all my host-aunts and -uncles and cousins and grandparents and etcetera. It's been pretty fun, but occasionally stressful on my German- actually, forget occasionally, all the time! So, based on my experiences, I present the highly scientific conversation-graph!
Just click to read, folks!
Ach, Gruss Gott! Wie aufriebend fur dir! Verruckt!!Sprechen Sie mir (auf Deutsch, noch).

While this graph has certainly helped my understanding of your Germany exchange, I can't help but feel a Z axis would have made it that much more informative. Perhaps how growing and receding hunger pangs contribute to your confidence and panic in the conversation?
ReplyDeleteHey, oboe-meister! sudo make me a stochastic graph of probablistic outcomes in chaotic systems. Oh wait, you did that already.

I bet one more overlayed plot would show an ascending curve, maybe not very steep yet, indicating your knowledge of German. When I lived there, except for my vocabulary, accent and grammer, I spoke perfect German!
ReplyDeleteI shared the graph with the RYE committee this morning. They were amused. In fact, it will be clipped and pasted into the next Rotary newsletter.
